Kevin Saldivar, 31, grew up with a single mom who worked tirelessly to put food on the table and raise him and his three brothers.

The older he got and the more skills he acquired, Kevin realized he wanted to find a way to give back to single mothers.

“I know the struggle of how mothers don’t ask for help or don’t know what to do.”

So for the past four years, Kevin has been offering help to single moms in the San Diego area. And whether he’s hanging a big-screen TV, installing an appliance, or transporting a pickup truck, he doesn’t charge a penny for his labor. Kevin selflessly offers his services during the entire month of May, in honor of Mother’s Day.

“I’m doing it because of my mother,” he says.

He’s helped out countless single moms — like Kecia, who is doing her very best to raise her young son while working a full-time job and pursuing a master’s in speech pathology. Kecia saw Kevin’s ad online, decided to reach out to him, and was overwhelmed by his assistance and kindness.

Making his mission even more heartwarming is the fact Kevin does all this work in addition to his full-time job — spending his time after work and on weekends trying to make life just a little bit easier for those hardworking mothers out there.

In fact, he says he only wishes he could do more for the single moms in his community and beyond.
